99. Warwickshire Avon

Brief description of fishery:

A stretch of The Warwickshire Avon river that is available to Bridgwater full season membership holders.

Wick Grange

Wick Grange is 750m in length holding 30 pegs and is at Wick, which is just upstream of Pershore. It is a comfortable water to fish as it doesn’t have the high banks of the River Severn and is not so prone to flooding. There are ledges for landing fish in most areas but please remember these are created when the bank slips so could be unstable.

The Big U bend is a great feature and has a hole cut into the bottom of the river this is approximately 22ft deep during the summer. The bottom is mostly clay with the main channel running at 11 – 13ft deep.

All the normal river species are present here including Zander, Carp and Barbel the water used to also offer large bags of Bream. It is receptive to all methods and particularly lends itself to fishing the stick float.

There is good predator fishing for Perch, Pike and Zander. The stretch holds a large bend. Look for the Gravel and fish wont be far away.

Night fishing is allow on this stretch but the owner has requested that he is contacted before fishing so that he is aware of who is on the land. Call Tom Miekle on 07976 661295.

Species;
Barbel, Chub, Bream, Rudd, Roach, Pike, Perch and Zander
